Ryan Reynolds on Hitting the Awards Circuit as a Dad of Two Under 2: 'I'm Amazed I Remembered Pants!'

"I'm going to actually nap in the awards show," he quipped

Ryan Reynolds has a big night ahead of him — so let’s be thankful he remembered to put on pants.

During a red carpet interview at the Critics’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, the actor revealed what it’s like getting ready for award shows with two kids at home to take care of.

“I don’t have time for anything — I’m amazed I remembered pants!” he said with a laugh.

Reynolds, 40, welcomed his second child — a daughter — with wife Blake Lively, 29, in September. The new addition, whose name has yet to be revealed, joins big sister James, who will turn 2 on Friday. And while the two little ladies are certainly keeping him busy, he still found time to put on a tux and bowtie for the show.

“This is, like, a 45-minutes procedure — and that’s on a good day,” he quipped of the bowtie. “If I have to do one, sometimes it’s hours. It’s a terrible process.”

“I’m going to actually nap in the awards show,” he added. “That’s where I’ll get a little rest!”
