Countess Sophie discusses her traumatic birth
Countess Sophie of Wessex, has spoken for the first time about her traumatic birth with daughter Princess Louise. Sophie spoke about her experience at the neo-natal unit in London’s Great Ormond Street hospital, talking to new mothers – some who had also experienced frightening deliveries.
Louise was delivered prematurely in 2003 and Sophie, who almost died in the process, explained that her daughter’s birth was a blur, "It was just a blur. I simply didn’t see her for a few days … It’s quite frightening when you can’t see them for the wires."
Countess Sophie is married to Britain’s Prince Edward and this week the royal aides released a statement dismissing claims that the couple is expecting another baby, "It is purely speculative and we are not putting out a statement. It’s a private matter between the couple."

Thanks to CBB Reader Eliza for the correction on Sophie’s title- she is a Countess not a Princess.
