Robyn Lawley gave birth to her daughter Ripley Dorothy seven months ago, but instead of using a diet to get her post-baby body back, she’s staying focused on her health.

“I don’t believe in restricting myself. I believe in eating wholesome foods and good quality foods,” the 26-year-old model tells PEOPLE. “I generally eat what I want, when I want, but I keep it in moderation.”

The first plus-size model to get her own page in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue also believes in making exercise like kickboxing and hiking a priority.

“I probably do two to three classes a week and then I’ll do a class of yoga with my baby,” says the swimsuit designer. “It’s the cutest thing of all time going to a yoga class full of babies.”

She adds, “You have to feel good about your body and I think the best way to do that is by doing something like camping or hiking and making your body do more than just looking nice.”

Being in the modeling industry, Lawley — who says she doesn’t worry about her weight or measurements anymore and doesn’t even own a scale — knows about the pressures women feel to look good. But she’s hoping to teach her daughter that “strong is the new sexy.”

“When you have to lose a lot of weight for modeling, you’re not strong and you’re not healthy, it’s like the exact opposite,” she says. “So for me, I really want to make sure my daughter feels good and looks healthy and is happy with that.”
