Patrick Kennedy and his wife are adding one more member to the Kennedy clan.

The son of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy and his wife, Amy Petitgout, are expecting another baby, he confirmed to the Associated Press Tuesday.

They are due with a daughter on Thanksgiving Day, he revealed.

“I’m very, very excited. We all are,” Kennedy, 46, says. “We’re in the process of building a house, and we were just at the stage of painting. We had a little extra impetus to find out whether we have a little boy or little girl so we could paint the nursery the appropriate color. So, it will be pink.”

Their latest bundle will join big brother Owen Patrick, born made his debut in April 2012.

Kennedy, a former Rhode Island congressman, wed Petitgout, a teacher, on the grounds of the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, Mass., in 2011 – two years after his father’s death. His brother, Edward Kennedy, Jr., served as best man.

According to the Providence Journal, the couple met in 2010 when Kennedy attended a gala for The Arc of Atlantic County, which serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as a stand-in for a colleague.

Petitgout has a 5-year-old daughter, Harper, from a previous marriage. The family now lives in New Jersey.
