Although due with her first child in June, Molly Sims is already feeling the heat when it comes to planning a nursery.

“My friend told me she ordered the entire catalog of Restoration Hardware,” the Project Accessory host, 38, told PEOPLE Saturday at the launch of Diane Von Furstenberg’s GapKids + DVF collection in Los Angeles.

“I thought, ‘Should I do that?’ Yeah, I’m starting it.”

But with no central focus to work from — “I don’t really like themes,” she admits — the mom-to-be has enlisted a few experts to help create her ideal baby room.

Revealing that the nursery will be “very colorful and eclectic,” the model/actress has turned to Wendy Rossiter Estes and Tiffany Grayce Harris, owners of oh-so chic baby boutique Layla Grayce, for inspiration.

“I love them. They are awesome because they know more about babies than you could ever want to know,” she says. “They’re like scientists of babies.”

But while Sims preps for baby, there’s another item on her priority list: Not leaving her fur “babies” out of the excitement.

So does that mean the nursery will include a special spot her two pups, as well?
