Norway's Princess Mette-Marit returns to royal duties
Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit has been given the all clear to return to work following her pregnancy-related health scare. Mette-Marit is expecting her third child in December and was recently diagnosed as having low blood pressure resulting from her pregnancy. The Princess has resumed her royal duties with her husband Crown Prince Haakon, visiting the town of Sigdal a week after a string of cancelled appearances.
Her absence from the public eye drew criticism with media reports calling her spoiled and selfish, saying she wasn’t taking her royal duties seriously. Prince Haakon stood up for his wife explaining that the Princess had no choice but to take time off on doctors orders, "It’s been uncomfortable, but not dangerous."
Princess Mette-Marit has a daughter, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, from her marriage to the Crown Prince, and she has a son, Marius, from a previous relationship. Hello! Magazine has some pictures of Princess Mette-Marit making her public appearances.
