U.K. news outlet The Sun was first to report the happy news, which comes eight and a half years after Bedingfield, 35, and Robinson tied the knot in a ceremony at the Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu, California.

“Becoming a mum is something I’ve always dreamed of but for a long time I felt it was way off in the distance,” the “Unwritten” singer told the publication. “Now the bump is starting to really show, it’s sinking in that this is really happening.”

“I’m so excited to embrace this huge life-change,” she added. “And Matt is super supportive.”

Ahead of the couple’s first wedding anniversary, Bedingfield joked to PEOPLE that “the best thing about being a married woman is sleeping naked everyday,” singing praises of her husband.

“He keeps the romance alive!” she shared at the time. “It’s the man’s job to keep the romance alive, and he definitely keeps it hot. I never have to worry about that with him.”

Bedingfield rose to fame in 2005 following the release of her debut album Unwrittenthe LP’s title track and single “These Words” became Top 40 hits, as did 2008 follow-ups “Pocketful of Sunshine” and “Love Like This.”
