Natalie Portman's Red Carpet Bump Style
For the Feb. 27 Oscars, Natalie Portman chose a violet beaded, off-the-shoulder Rodarte gown – a nod to the design team that helped create Black Swan's costumes – accessorized with matching Jimmy Choo satin pumps, a gold Roger Vivier clutch and sparkly Tiffany & Co. jewelry. The rich hue must be her lucky color! The mom-to-be picked up the Best Actress award for her role in the film.
Just a day before the big show, Portman opted for a more leggy look at the Film Indpendent Spirit Awards. The expectant star put her gorgeous gams on display in a canary-and-beige Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci empire waist mini paired with nude heels, a bright yellow clutch and a Cartier ring.
At the annual Academy Awards luncheon in Beverly Hills on Feb. 7, the Black Swan star kept her growing bump under wraps in a silky azure Lanvin dress paired with coordinating fuchsia clutch and pumps.
The star played up her maternity glow in a floor-length Michael Kors halter with a gold neck plate paired with Aldo heels and some major Cartier bling at the Directors Guild of America Awards on Jan. 29. "I feel happy and I think when you’re happy you’re always glowing," she explained.
COMFY AND CHIC
Is stylist Kate Young daunted by her client's expanding belly? No way, she told the New York Times: "It's an opportunity to make the most beautiful pregnancy dress on the red carpet." Here, Portman dons a goddess-like one-shoulder gown by Gianfranco Ferré paired with Fred Leighton jewels for the VH1 Movie Awards on Jan. 14.
SHORT AND SWEET
For the AFI awards on Jan. 14, the star kept things simple in a bright cobalt Michael Kors shift paired with a black clutch and pumps.
What bump? At the L.A. premiere of her comedy No Strings Attached on Jan. 11, Portman kept her burgeoning belly under wraps in a long black-and-beige Vena Cava maxi dress, which she wore with simple Tiffany & Co. pearl earrings and
Aldo platform heels.
TOUCH OF GOLD
Très jolie! The actress channels her inner French sophisticate in an above-the-knee Vionnet frock (check out the sparkly metallic collar and cuffs) and slicked-back bun at the Palm Springs Film Festival Gala on Jan. 8. Her best accessory? Her shiny new engagement ring.
A week and a half after Portman announced she was engaged and expecting, the actress kept her belly expertly hidden in a loose, tiered Jason Wu shift at the People's Choice Awards on Jan. 5.
