While this is Matthew McConaughey‘s year, it was son Levi who stole the spotlight April 24 when the brood attended the 2nd annual Mack, Jack & McConaughey charity gala in their hometown Austin, Texas.

Instead of wearing chic neutrals like the rest of his family (including mom Camila, sister Vida, 4, and grandmother Mary), the dapper 5½-year-old opted for Appaman‘s Chambray Mod suit ($148), white T-shirt and dark brown oxfords.

And here are the reasons why we’re glad the little guy decided to step out of his style box.

1) His light blue two-piece is the perfect complement to his little sister’s polka-dot dress.

2) He could have chosen a darker suit to blend in, but his color choice is perfect for spring festivities. Plus, it really makes his brown curly mop pop.

3) Like his dad, he’s already a fan of the non stuffy look so it’s only right he paired it with a casual tee. Good choice, Levi!
