Even before his son Thomas Boyer ‘Bo’ Bryan, 4 ½-months, was born in March Luke Bryan says he knew instinctively that having a baby would change everything; the country singer even penned a song — "I’ll Never Be The Same Again" — while wife Caroline was still pregnant. But when their then-newborn son required abdominal surgery at 5-weeks, the medical scare drove the point home for the couple that they were now living "a totally different life," Luke says in a new interview with Country Weekly. Bo has since recovered from his surgery, and his family is happy to find themselves focusing on the more mundane aspects of parenthood, like diaper changes — something Luke says he does "pretty well."

"Life’s up and down from the time you get here to the time you leave. I just want him to have the opportunities I’ve had and to go after dreams like I’ve been able to do," he adds.
