The Odd Couple's Lindsay Sloane Is Expecting Baby No. 2!
The actress had her first child, daughter Maxwell, in January 2012
Lindsay Sloane is pregnant again!
The Odd Couple actress revealed the happy news exclusively with PEOPLE at the 6th Annual Santa’s Secret Workshop in West Hollywood, California, on Saturday.
“It’s weird being here because last time I was here I was pregnant and it was a fun event for my daughter and now it’s like, oh my God. I have started thinking of all the things I need for a baby,” she told PEOPLE of her 4-year-old daughter Maxwell Lue with husband Dar Rollins. “Because in five years car seats go out, you can’t keep the same car seat and you have to start all over again.”
Sloane, 39, said she is due next summer and it hasn’t been an easy pregnancy.
“I did not feel good in the beginning,” she said. “I was also working and trying to hide it … Our sweet costumer was helping me hide it. It doesn’t make any sense [that] the part you feel the worst is where you can’t really tell people about it. You can’t get any sympathy and you just feel terrible.
“I was also just I basically felt hungover without the fun night before,” the actress said. I felt hungover for three months.”
She said the couple planned for baby No. 2 — a girl — but was thrilled with how “easy” it was to get pregnant.
“I guess people say you are so lucky it happened so quick at this age,” she said, adding, “[Maxwell’s] going to have a little sister. She’s very excited.”
And big-sis-to-be Maxwell seems eager to take on her new role, telling PEOPLE she looks forward to “[playing] with her” and being a “tickle monster.”
Meanwhile, Maxwell has had some accomplishments of her own, and her mom was excited to gush about her little one.
“She’s just going to kindergarten now, that was huge,” Sloane said. “But she’s just the greatest person, she’s such a fun hang. There’s really such a difference of babyhood into childhood and now I look forward to my time alone with her ’cause she’s just a fun pal to be around.
Sloane is particularly in awe of her daughter’s attitude toward bringing home a new member of the family.
“She’s been so kind and loving with the baby coming and it just makes my heart so full,” she said. “She kisses my stomach every night. She wants to sing lullabies to her all the time. This little baby is very lucky to have her as a big sister. She sings ‘Twinkle, Twinkle’ and ‘You Are My Sunshine’ and the ABCs.”
