Turns out Curtis Stone‘s skills are not only limited to the kitchen.

The Top Chef Duels host and his wife, actress Lindsay Price, welcomed their second child Emerson Spencer only five months ago and Stone has taken his fathering duties in stride.

“He’s a really hands-on dad,” Price tolf PEOPLE at the Raising the Bar to End Parkinson’s event at Public School 818 in Sherman Oaks, California, on Saturday night. “He’s the diaper master.”

Stone wasn’t willing to take any of the credit for his wife’s hard work though.

“She does all the heavy lifting,” the chef says. “I do night duty in the restaurant and she does night duty with the kids.”

And to make sure he doesn’t miss time Emerson or 3-year-old Hudson, Stone leaves his mornings free to spend time with his family.

“We all come together in morning,” he explains. “It’s a bit unconventional but it’s nice. I make breakfast, we hang out. Hudson and I usually get in the swimming pool too.”

And it’s not just the kids who benefit from Daddy’s cooking. Price claims the slim figure she’s sporting just five months after giving birth is due to her husband’s home cooked meals.

“I’m lucky because I have a very healthy cook in the house and he’s very mindful,” Price says. “I’m breastfeeding so I eat every three hours, but it’s whole grains, proteins and salads. He’s the salad master these days!”
