Restored by the Fords star Leanne Ford and her husband, Buck Mason co-founder Erik Allen Ford, welcomed their daughter Ever Allen on March 18.

And it should come as no surprise that their little bundle had a nursery to drool over waiting for her in the couple's L.A. home.

Making a Fresh Start

Finding out they were expecting last summer inspired the Fords to trade in their "little cabin" in Silver Lake for a family-friendly rental house near the ocean, which meant a new decorating project for the then-mom-to-be.

"I just wanted to make it look magical" without tackling a huge renovation while pregnant, Leanne, 37, explains to PEOPLE.

Now, her focus can be on what matters most: "At first when your baby comes you just need bonding time, the three of us, for our little family."

The designer, who stars alongside her carpenter brother Steve on their hit HGTV show, pulled inspiration from the 1970s — like the maroon Faye Toogood Roly Poly chair — and the bohemian-beachy vibe of their new neighborhood.

The layered vintage Moroccan rugs are from a small company called Heja, and the rug under the crib is from Swoon.

Ever's room also has an attached terrace, where Mom and baby can soak up some sun. A modern bassinet by Snoo and a God's eye weaving Leanne picked up on a trip to Mexico frame the doorway.

An Accidental Scene-Stealer

A scene-stealing gold Sputnik-style sconce from Big Daddy's Antiques, which Leanne calls "one of my secret weapons in L.A. for all things design," is actually a clever solution to a lack of overhead lighting in the room.

"It's on a dimmer and at night she loves staring at it. It's pretty cute. She must have inherited that Interior Designer blood," says the new mom .

A modern, pale wood crib, nearby olive-green dresser and leather rocking chair are all from Crate & Kids.

Mom and Dad's Love Story

The room's sweetest feature covers nearly an entire wall behind the crib: the "love wall." Leanne describes the ever-changing collage of keepsakes as "just a bunch of sappy things that" she and Erik, 35, "send to each other."

Amid the couple's love notes (the pair married in an impromptu ceremony in New York in 2017) are concert tickets from shows they've attended, family photos, little mementos of dates and vacations, cards sent to Ever and drawings by friends.

"To look at it makes you happy. You realize what a nice life you have," says Leanne.

One Girly-Girl Thing

Leanne, a proponent of all-white rooms (as any fan of Restored by the Fords knows) did inject a little dose of baby pink into her daughter's space.

"The rocker that we got is this blush leather, like a really dusty rose," she says. "Ever is a lucky little lady." The seat sits in front of a wall of baskets for storage and artworks and photos.

"Our artist friends are giving her pieces, which has been really fun and special," she explains. "We hung a bunch in the nursery."

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Now all that's left for the family to do is enjoy their space and some precious time off together.

"I feel like she's just our little sidekick," Leanne tells PEOPLE of Ever. "She's very laid back, but I guess that might have something to do with her parents."
