It was quite the special Father’s Day weekend for Kris Allen — he’s a dad again!
The American Idol season 8 winner and his wife Katy welcomed their second child, a girl, on Saturday, June 18, at 4:15 p.m., a rep for Allen confirms exclusively to PEOPLE.
Rose Elizabeth Allen — whom the couple will call “Rosie” — was born in Nashville, Tennessee. She weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz., and measured 19 inches long.
“Welcome to the world Rosie. Oh man…I am done. She’s already got me figured out I think,” the singer wrote on Instagram. “Excuse me while I go learn how to braid hair on YouTube for the next 13 years…cuz that’s how long it’s gonna take me. #itsagirl #rosie”

The couple didn’t know they were having a girl — unlike with their son, they decided to keep the sex a secret.
“We found out with our son, but we just feel like there’s not enough mystery in the world today,” the singer, who will turn 31 on Tuesday, told PEOPLE in March. “Now it’s kind of like: Let’s have fun with it! We’re not putting a ton of pressure on it.”
One mystery they did have to face? How Oliver would handle a new sibling.
“We’re trying [to prepare him]. I don’t know if he completely understands it or if he’s gonna love it,” Allen said, laughing. “I think he might be a little jealous.”
