Over 10,000 event tickets were sold to the “#BallForACause” event, whose proceeds went to cancer research via Stand Up To Cancer. Over two dozen celebrities participated in the event, including Wilkinson and new mom of two Jenn Brown.
Wilkinson — who also shares 2-year-old daughter Alijah Mary with husband and Kendra on Top costar Hank Baskett — made an impressive 3-point shot during the game, helping her team come super close to winning (the final score was 66-65).
The reality star and author spoke to her son about the event in the green room. She explained why she was participating, about cancer and on the importance of helping those affected.
The mom of two values closeness with her children, as she has spoken recently about how little Hank still sleeps in the same bed with her and her husband.
“It’s so sweet: We wake up holding each other’s hands,” she told PEOPLE in May of her only son. “I can’t let that go. He’s so special to me.”
