Kelly Clarkson is feeling the Christmas spirit — both in real life and onscreen!

The pop superstar just released her second children’ book, River Rose and the Magical Christmas (based on 3-year-old daughter River Rose), and is now lending her famous pipes to her very own animated likeness.

Clarkson, 35, will light up the screen as herself in DreamWorks’ Home: For the Holidays, based on the Netflix original animated series Home Adventures with Tip & Oh.

“I was so excited to be able to be a part of the singing,” the inaugural American Idol champ says in a behind-the-scenes featurette about the festive new special.

The new special chronicles Oh’s first Christmas on Earth, gracing viewers with Clarkson’s renditions of “O Holy Night” and “Christmas Is a Feeling.”

It also explores the true meaning of Christmas in the sense that it isn’t about the gifts you receive, but the warm feelings associated with being around those you love.

“My character, which is me, explains it’s not about how great your tree is, but it’s about who is surrounding the tree with you — creating those memories that you’ll have forever,” says Clarkson.

The “Love So Soft” singer — also mom to 19-month old son Remington “Remy” Alexander and stepmom to husband Brandon Blackstock‘s children Seth, 10, and Savannah, 16 — has a pretty simple opinion about the project.

Home: For the Holidays is awesome,” she says.

DreamWorks’ Home: For the Holidays premieres exclusively on Netflix Friday.
