Justin Bieber‘s ban on fan photos has been lifted – but only for a tiny Belieber.

The 22-year-old singer eased up on his newly minted no-picture-taking policy earlier this week when he met the infant.

“My daughter just kidding,” he captioned a black and white Instagram photo of himself holding the baby.

The sweet post comes just one month after Bieber declared in an Instagram post that he is “done taking pictures” with fans.

“If you happen to see me out somewhere know that I’m not gonna take a picture I’m done taking pictures,” he wrote. “It has gotten to the point that people won’t even say hi to me or recognize me as a human, I feel like a zoo animal, and I wanna be able to keep my sanity.”

A source later told PEOPLE that Bieber wasn’t trying to be selfish when he made the decision to scrap fan photos – and all future scheduled meet-and-greets on his Purpose World Tour.

“He was honest when he explained that he feels like a zoo animal,” the source said. “He wants his fans to realize that he is still a person – a person who would like a little bit of respect.”

However, it seems the baby struck just the right chord with Bieber.

TMZ reported that Bieber met the 6-month-old, named Nikki, while out to lunch in Malibu on Monday. He reportedly said, “Aww, who is this little baby she’s so cute.” He also reportedly asked to hold her and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
