Jessica Biel Calls Son Silas a 'Joy,' Hubby Justin Timberlake a Hands-On Dad

"Incredibly hard – the hardest job in the world," Jessica Biel said of being a mother during a Today interview

Jessica Biel says parenting her son Silas Randall is “amazing,” but admits the real MVP is her own mother.

“He’s wonderful,” the actress said of Silas, who will be 6 months old next week, during a Friday appearance on NBC’s Today. “He’s just a joy. It’s an amazing, amazing experience. Incredibly hard — the hardest job in the world, and I’ve never been more thankful and grateful to my own mother.”

Biel, 33, welcomed her first child with husband Justin Timberlake back in April.

“Oh my gosh, I just … I’m gonna call her right after this, actually, and just thank her,” Biel said of her mother, “because what you have to do for your kid — it’s an amazing responsibility and the biggest joy ever.”

Appearing on behalf of WomanCare Global, a women’s reproductive health charity, Biel also revealed that Timberlake is a hands-on dad.

“He is doing it all,” she said when asked if the pop crooner is ever on diaper duty. “He is in there; he’s in there deep.”

Biel, who’s starring in a series of online sex education videos in partnership with WomanCare Global, said she opted to get involved after realizing she was fairly clueless when it came to her own body.

“This was really personal for me,” Biel said on Today. “A couple of years ago, when I was thinking about starting a family, I started to realize, ‘Okay, well now you have to get off birth control and what happens? How exactly is it gonna go?’ I started to realize I had absolutely no idea what my cycle looked like.”
