STEP 1: HANG OUT WILL FELLOW MOMS-TO-BE
Nothing beats swapping pregnancy stories with a friend who can definitely relate. Bonus points if the meet-up includes tons and tons of tacos.
STEP 2: GO ON DATES WITH YOUR HUSBAND
Forget fancy sit-down meals – a fast-food run (complete with ice cream) can be just what the doctor ordered. “Sometimes, you forget about eating healthy and go for the good stuff,” writes Jessa (Duggar) Seewald.
STEP 3: ENJOY TIME OFF WITH FRIENDS
Have some fun with friends before baby arrives, whether that means catching a football game or inviting them over for a chill night at home.
STEP 4: ENJOY LOTS OF DIAPER-LESS QUALITY TIME WITH YOUR HUSBAND
After all, you do have about 20 built-in babysitters.
STEP 5: SERIOUSLY, YOU GOTTA LIVE IT UP
Because camping out on the floor of your baby’s nursery after a late-night feeding just isn’t the same.
STEP 6: MAKE TIME FOR THE THINGS THAT MATTER TO YOU
Even as her due date passed by, Jill volunteered at her local thrift store with Derick like it’s NBD. Yes, you read that correctly: She passed her due date and still set aside time to make a difference.
STEP 7: PRACTICE WITH OTHER BABIES
The midwife-in-training finds plenty of playdate options for her little one, including this baby boy she helped deliver just two weeks before her own due date.
STEP 8: GO ON ONE LAST VACATION
Next time around, we have a feeling there will be a few new items in their suitcases (read: baby wipes). But prior to son Israel’s birth, Jill and Derick enjoyed their babymoon, which they prepped for by contacting potential midwives in the Lone Star State just in case. “We had a great time with family on vacation, but it doesn’t look like we’re going to have a Texas baby,” Derick writes.
STEP 9: TREAT YOURSELF
Spa days with mom are slightly more relaxing than adjusting to a newborn’s nap schedule, although that’s just our opinion.
STEP 10: SHOW OFF YOUR PREGNANCY MILESTONES
Whoever coined the phrase “the more the merrier” was actually referring to bump Instagrams.
STEP 11: GET YOUR SNACK ON
Jill’s craving: green beans with vinegar and salt. “I love spinach and vinegar and salt as a cool treat too!” she writes of her other go-to, which we guess is pretty much the same thing as ice cream.
STEP 12: GET YOUR SNACK ON (PT. II)
“Healthy banana peanut butter shakes,” are a second craving. We’ll have what she’s having.
STEP 13: KEEP BUSY
We learned two things from Jill’s gym selfie: 1) She’s been breaking a sweat by walking at her gym. 2) Her hair always, always looks amazing.
STEP 14: STOCK UP
Not pictured: lots and lots of diapers.
STEP 15: SPEND LOTS OF QUALITY TIME WITH THE FAM
Family portraits are about to get even cuter.
