Inside Jessa (Duggar) Seewald and Ben's First Few Days as Parents: We're 'Trying to Call Each Other Mom and Dad So This Whole Thing Can Sink in'
Jessa Duggar Seewald is opening up about her firstborn – and why she was rushed to the ER following a dramatic two-day labor. Subscribe now for this Duggar baby exclusive, only in PEOPLE!
“When we got home from the hospital, we had the baby on the bed between us, and we were lying there – it seemed like a dream,” she tells PEOPLE exclusively in this week’s issue.
Jessa, 23, and her husband Ben Seewald welcomed their first child, son Spurgeon Elliot, on Nov. 5.
The unique moniker honors 19th century preacher Charles Haddon Spurgeon. But the baby boy’s parents are still adjusting to their new names: Mom and Dad.
“Jessa and I are trying to call each other Mom and Dad just so this whole being-parents thing can sink in a little,” says Ben, 20.
It’s a job the TLC reality stars feel blessed to have.
“I can’t believe he’s really ours,” Jessa says of Spurgeon. “It is so amazing. He’s a miracle.”
