Jason Sudeikis Talks False Alarm (and Beyoncé's Influence!) Days Before Daughter Daisy's Birth
"I think she was just fired up, just sitting there doing the ['Single Ladies'] dance," Jason Sudeikis explains
She’s already a member of the Bey Hive!
On Friday, new father of two Jason Sudeikis stopped by Harry to talk to Harry Connick Jr. about his little girl Daisy Josephine, born just 10 days ago. But as it turns out, he and fiancée Olivia Wilde actually thought their daughter was going to make her appearance a little earlier than she did.
“[Olivia’s] like, ‘Date night, we’re going to go see Beyoncé,’ ” Sudeikis, 41, said of his wife’s plans four days before Daisy was born. “So we were in line to get [in the] Lincoln Tunnel and there was an accident in there and everything was [backed] up, and it was going to take us an hour to get through the tunnel, and we would have been a half hour late to the concert.”
Adds the Saturday Night Live alum, “So we turned around, her contractions started … we U-turned and got it out of there. We figured it would be a bad scene to have the baby in a tunnel, and a little redundant. So we hightailed it to Upper East Side where the hospital was, got out of the car, walked around the neighborhood a little bit.
“Then Daisy calmed down,” he continues. “I think she was just fired up, just sitting there doing the [‘Single Ladies’] dance, ‘I know where I’m going. I know where I’m going.’ ”

The Horrible Bosses actor’s first order of business during Harry, though? To explain why he was late making his appearance on the show.
“I was supposed to be on the show that afternoon. I was supposed to be here at 4, she came out at 3:39,” Sudeikis explains. “She does not care about show business. But she will.”
Connick also asks what Sudeikis’ and Wilde’s son Otis Alexander, 2½, is currently into these days.
Connick then shows a video of Sudeikis and Wilde’s adorable little boy — also a Beyoncé fan! — performing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,” strumming on the guitar and singing with a huge smile on his face.
“Does he want a gig?” fellow musician Connick jokes.
“Yeah, probably,” Sudeikis says. “I don’t think he knows what that is, but I would love for him to bring in a steady paycheck.”
