Celebrity Parents Jason Aldean Shows Off His Softer Side The hard-rocking country star opens up his Tennessee home to PEOPLE Country By Eileen Finan Published on September 7, 2012 09:00 AM Share Tweet Pin Email Jason Aldean is known for his hard-rocking, high-energy stage show, but at home on his 18-acre Tennessee spread, the country star rocks a different kind of role – as a dad. There, life is all about family dinners (favorites include wife Jessica’s mac and cheese) and bedtime tickle fights with his daughters Keeley, 9, and Kendyl, 5. “It’s my one of my favorite parts of the day,” says Aldean, 35, of tucking his girls in at night. The Macon Ga., native – who just earned a CMA nomination for entertainer of the year – opens the doors to his 5,000 square foot home in PEOPLE Country’s new cover story. “I had a good time doing the shoot and having everybody come out to the house,” he says. “It gives the fans an inside look at my place and my life offstage, which I thought was great.” With the multi-platinum success of his My Kinda Party album, a stadium-filling tour and a new CD, Night Train, out next month, Aldean’s family time is limited but packed with simple pleasures like teaching his girls to fish, riding 4-wheelers, and daytime dates with Jessica, grabbing a sandwich or burger while their girls are in school. Another favorite family haunt? The toy aisle at Target. “Kendyl loves going there for some reason, he says. But when I’m home it doesn’t matter whether we’re going to the Home Depot or the post office, we’re almost always together.
