Ivanka Trump talks about her father's advice on love

Ivanka Trump, who is featured on the cover of the September issue of Stuff, shared some tidbits with the magazine about her relationship with her father, real estate mogul Donald Trump, particularly concerning his interference in her love life.

"He has very strong opinions – which I try not to listen to," Ivanka says.

She says her father even has a preference in the type of guys she dates.

"He loves the athletes because he’s always wanted to be an athlete. He’s into guys’ guys. But when he starts talking about it, I stop listening."

Ivanka says her father is nothing like he is presented on his hit show, The Apprentice, on which she has guest starred. However, that doesn’t stop her dates from feeling intimidated when meeting "The Donald," which is why Ivanka says she takes "as long as possible" before introducing her father to her beaus.

"He’s really a laid-back, mellow guy, but people have a level of anxiety prior to meeting him," she says. "I don’t think he’s much different from any other father. He’s protective, but I’m sure there are fathers who are much worse. He hasn’t threatened bodily harm to any of the people I’ve dated. Well, as far as I know."

The heiress, who’s 24 and has a career as VP of real-estate development for Trump Organziation, says she’s like every other girl.

"I like to have fun with my friends and go out at night," Ivanka says, "But you’re not going to find me dancing on top of tables or see me trashed outside of Bungalow 8."

She even has celebrity crushes.

"I love Joaquin Phoenix," she says. "He has a very sexy thing going. I don’t go for the typically handsome guy. Although I love Christian Bale; I think he’s sort of an Adonis."

No matter how much advice Donald offers his daughter about her love life, Ivanka says her dad never seeks her guidance on love and relationships.

"God, no! I’ve certainly tried to give it to him, but he’s never solicited it."

Ivanka’s mother was Donald’ s first wife Ivana Trump.
