The Safe Sippy: BPA-Free Sippin'
In transitioning my infant daughter to a cup, I’ve been using the Safe Sippy by Kid Basix ($16.95) because I wanted the safest option. It was important for it to be free of Bisphenol A and phthalates, so the non-leaching food-grade stainless steel cup is a great alternative to the typical plastic sippies on the market. We like the removable super-grippy handles and the rubber sleeve, which protects the cup when it drops! The only plastic on the cup is made of Polypropylene (#5 plastic), which is the most stable of all the plastics that is Bisphenol A, phthalates and DEHA free. The medical-grade silicone valve inside the no-leak straw-shaped spout will only dispense liquid when sucked. As a great side benefit, the stainless steel keeps liquids colder much longer than traditional plastic sippy cups.
The Safe Sippy is top rack dishwasher-safe. The rubber sleeve is removable so you can clean underneath it. Color choices are pink, blue and green.
