Sleepless nights are an expectation when it comes to parenting and newborn babies, and something Hilary Duff experienced often with her 3-month-old daughter Banks Violet.

But the Younger star has found a new way to make sure Banks gets a good night’s sleep — meaning her and her boyfriend, musician Matthew Koma (with whom she welcomed her baby girl in October), get one as well.

“We have a sleeping baby!” Duff, 31, wrote on Instagram. “Baby whisperer/ genius/ brilliant /calm and loving Kimberly (actually baby care specialist and postpartum doula) ( @sweetdreams.la ) spent this rainy weekend with us and got our sweet girl sleeping!”

“I honestly didn’t remember what good sleep felt like! Pretty delicious!” she raved.

Duff opened up in the post about the challenges she has been facing getting her daughter to fall asleep, saying Banks would never sleep for longer than 30 to 40 minutes at a time before.

For Duff and Koma, 31, this posed a real problem when wanting to return to work, but also a cause of concern for Banks’ own health as well. According to Baby Center, newborns are expected to sleep anywhere from 16 to 17 hours a day, often for two to four hours at a time.

Since hiring Kimberly Von Slomski, the postpartum doula and founder of Sweet Dreams LA, Duff said her daughter has been the happiest she has ever seen her, writing, “She slayed 11 hours last night and woke up with the biggest gummy smile I have ever seen!”

With the training, Duff says that she now has the tools to help Banks fall asleep easier and that it was the right choice for her family. She also shared an adorable Boomerang clip on her Instagram Story showing baby Banks now excited for her nap time.

Slomski and Sweet Dreams LA have also helped former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky-Manno sleep train her now 8-month old son, Riley Doran.

Last year, Fedotowsky-Manno opened up about the experience as well on her blog, writing that she highly recommended the training for any family that is able to invest in the opportunity.
