Following her recent engagement, Sara Ramirez may be ready for marriage, but the baby carriage is on hold — for now.
“I’m thinking about it, and I’m really taking it very seriously, because I feel that when you bring a child into the world, it’s a very, very big responsibility.”
After turning 36 last month, the age factor only adds to the pressure for the actress, who knows time is no longer on her side.
“I’m very aware of how old I am and I’m very aware of what that means in terms of statistics, and so, yes, I’m considering it,” she says. “The clock’s ticking and I totally hear it!”
And while Ramirez may find herself contemplating children later in life, her decision to hold off on starting a family is a choice she doesn’t regret.
“At the end of the day, I’m a much more giving person in my 30s than I would have been in my 20s,” she explains. “I’ll be a lot clearer about who I am and what I want and how to give unconditional love and attention to a child.”
