Goran Visnjic has agreed to pay $1,800 a month in child support for the baby daughter of a Croatian woman and has been granted once-a-month visitation rights with the infant, a lawyer for the mother tells the Associated Press.

There’s been no comment from the actor’s camp. Visnjic, 35, plays Dr. Luka Kovac on NBC’s ER.

In July, Mirela Rupic, 36, had sued Visnjic, claiming he was the father of her then- 4-month-old child.

At a hearing Tuesday before a Zagreb court, Visnjic’s lawyer, Marijan Hanzekovic, said his client had abandoned requests for a paternity test and recognized the child as his own.

Visnjic, a Los Angeles resident who since 1999 has been married to Croatian artist Ivana Vrdoljak – with whom he adopted a baby boy this spring – also agreed to the visitation schedule, according to Rupic’s lawyer, Nenad Skare.

In July, the actor was quoted as telling the Croatian women’s magazine Story that his extramarital affair “is not something that I’m proud of, of course. But I am ready to accept all the consequences of my act.”
