He’s getting used to the spotlight following a whirlwind year, but according to Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Channing Tatum has been practicing a backseat approach to her pregnancy.

“Channing has been great. He takes the route of no confrontation, just support, saying things like, ‘Do whatever you want! What do you want to eat? I’m going to leave it up to you,'” the Witches of East End actress tells Glamour in its May issue.

But while the actor has perfected dealings with his pregnant wife, the couple’s parenting techniques have yet to be determined. Fortunately, they’ve sharpened their skills with their furry family members.

“Who knows what kind of parents we’ll be? We have two dogs, so we’ve had some practice!” Dewan-Tatum, 32, jokes. “And as soon as this baby comes into the world, Channing and I will figure it out real fast.”

Due in June, the mom-to-be can’t help but marvel at her transforming shape — and count her blessings for a baby’s perfect timing.

“I thought my body was going to change so quickly with pregnancy that I’d freak out. But it was really gradual,” she shares. “There’s a reason women are pregnant for nine months; by the end, you’re ready to have this baby.”

And while she’s unsure as to what awaits the parents-to-be following their first child‘s big London arrival, Dewan-Tatum is up for the challenge.

“I think, ‘How in the world am I going to do all this?’ I have no idea what I’m up against,” she admits. “But I’m as mentally prepared as I can be. It’s an adventure!”
