Fisher-Price’s Little Superstar Sing-Along Stage ($45) is a cute "stage," that both of my kids (an infant and toddler) are enjoying. It’s a set comprised of a large mirror on four very sturdy plastic legs with lights, instruments and loads of pushable baby-friendly buttons. We have a lot of fun with the Little Superstar Sing Along Stage. Our baby daughter adores smashing the buttons and seeing the flashing lights, and my toddler loves to sing and dance in front of the "stage," holding the microphone.

Suitable from about 6 months of age, the stage also features catchy music, a removable microphone rattle, pop up "friends" in the audience, two volume levels, a song select button, applause, cheers and vocal scats. My daughter enjoys seeing herself in the mirror, pushing all the buttons, seeing the lights and hearing the music, while my son, almost 3, likes singing along to the music and dancing around.

There are two modes of play: "sing along" and "build an instrumental song". There are 5 songs and 3 dance tunes which include "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes," "If You’re Happy and You Know it," "The Peek-a-Boo Song," and "What Do You See" — which was our personal favorite. The tunes were so infectious that it got our whole family dancing.

In the first mode, little ones can activate the sing along tunes by pushing the buttons or using the microphone rattle. The little cue cards with the song lyrics were a cute touch. In the second mode, your children can build different songs by shaking the microphone to play fun little phrases ("Yeah!", "Let’s Dance", "Now You’re Rockin’!","You’re a Star!") and vocal scats ("Shooby do wah!" and two others) and by pressing the guitar, keyboard, drum and horn to add that instrument to the song. Just press again to take that instrument out of the song.

Caveat: You’ll have to put this toy together, but it was pretty simple with only 6 pieces — just make sure you have a Phillips screwdriver.
