Epicuren Baby Skincare: Natural Potions for Your Little One

My 20-month-old daughter’s favorite new thing is taking a bath (“Baf! Baf!” she says), so it was fun to try the all-natural Epicuren Baby skincare line during a recent soapy adventure. I particularly liked the fact that Epicuren Baby’s products (whose packaging features images by photographer Anne Geddes) are green: They’re manufactured under solar power, made from certified organic ingredients and the plastic containers are non-leaching without phthalates (a bonding agent).

Deal: Today only BabySteals.com is offering the Gift Set, regularly $60, for half off! But hurry up — quantities are limited!

While my daughter continually doused herself with water from her big red cup (another favorite activity), I lathered her with the Baby Daily Wash ($34.50 for 20.6 oz.), which had a great foaming quality. Infused with the line’s “episencial” blend of aromatherapy oils (including ingredients like hydrating calendula flower extract and soothing chamomile extract) and formulated with thyme oil (which has natural antimicrobial qualities), the light scent didn’t leave my daughter smelling as if she’d been doused at a perfume counter.

After toweling her off, I tried the Baby Daily Lotion ($39.50 for 20.6 oz.). Made with natural ingredients including pharmaceutical-grade honey, aloe vera juice and beeswax, it glided on smoothly and wasn’t greasy on her delicate skin. Interesting note: The Epicuren Baby Daily Lotion was selected for the 2009 SAG Awards gift bags, so A-list parents will surely be moisturizing their little ones with it! Celebrity fans include Matthew McConaughey, Mary Louise Parker, Tori Spelling, Teri Polo and Gretchen Mol, who said, “I can tell you that the cream works very well; we are in brisk New York right now, and his face was looking a little dry, and the cream just brought it back to that soft baby skin.”

The Epicuren Baby line is available at stores nationwide, including Fortunoff and Sparrow.
