British reporter and wife welcome a miracle baby

British radio reporter Mark Robinson and his wife Jayne welcomed their first child, a girl named Jessica Grace, who was indeed a miracle.

Nine years ago Jayne underwent a complex and pioneering surgery to remove a tumor in her cervix. Even though there were potential severe risks involved in conceiving a child, Jayne did not want to give up on her dream of having a baby. "Usually they would just remove the womb as well but I really wanted to have children and I was quite young so they left it in," she said.

When she learned she was pregnant, she and Mark were overjoyed – and scared, as doctors told her she could not carry a baby the full 40 weeks. Eight weeks before her due date, Jayne’s water broke. She was rushed to the hospital and underwent a C-section – and little Jessica came into the world at 3 lbs, 9 ounces on August 20th. According to her parents, she is doing very well.

"I cried so much when she was born and I still do," Mark said.
