She got it from her mama!

With Gail Simmons serving as a judge on Top Chef, it’s really no surprise that her daughter Dahlia Rae has inherited an impressive food palate — at least for a 20 month old.

“Her favorite things these days are mushrooms and olives. ‘Mama olive?’ ” Simmons, 39, told PEOPLE of her future foodie from the red carpet at Sunday’s 67th Primetime Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

“She opens the fridge and stands there and tries to reach for the olive jar.”

But the seasonal change has meant a switch up in the fruit bowl — and Simmons is having a hard time transitioning her peach-loving toddler to a more available alternative.

“I have to explain to her that you can’t get peaches in the fall and winter,” she says. “She doesn’t understand that concept yet and she’s going to be very disappointed. We’re moving to apples!”

While Simmons was on hand to support her hit show — which was up for outstanding reality-competitive program — her daughter was cheering her on back home.

“She’ll be watching from home with her grandparents tonight,” she shares. “She’s delicious. She’s talking up a storm, she’s eating up a storm.”
