The Hunger Games star told Ellen DeGeneres during an appearance on her talk show Tuesday that her kids Magnus Mitchell, 3, and Felix, 4½ — who she said are “very close” — are “obsessed with Darth Vader.”
“They’re all about Star Wars,” she says. “They don’t really know anything about Star Wars. I don’t know how Star Wars is doing it, but they’ve possessed my children.”

So how are Felix and Magnus so transfixed by the fictional space odyssey if they’ve never seen any of the current six films? Well, it started with dental hygiene.
“They got toothbrushes with Anakin and Darth Vader on them, accidentally,” she explains. “They got sent to the house. So they’re like, ‘Who are these guys?’ “

Banks, 41, struggled to explain that the characters are, in the end, the same person.
“Immediately they’re like, ‘What does that mean, how are they the same person? They’re on two different toothbrushes,’ ” Banks jokes, laughing.
In response, the actress began to tell the lengthy saga of the iconic characters, like Chewbacca and C3Po, and (poorly) impersonating their voices.
“My older one knows you can probably see a video of that on the Internet, and he’s right,” Banks says. “So I said, ‘Okay, you can see Chewbacca talking’ … I’m showing him this video, and in the middle of the video, out of nowhere — I’m not paying attention — it cuts to Darth Vader chopping off Luke’s hand … My kid was like ‘Woah! What was that?’ “
The star contends that she should have vetted the clip before showing it, but says the kids are still obsessed with the series.
The boys, who Banks share with Max Handelman, have also yet to see Mom’s own film franchise.
“They know who Effie is,” she shares. “They’ve played with Effie’s Barbie for a couple years now. She’s naked. They play with a naked Barbie of me.”
