Thankfully, I feel as though I am turning a corner physically, aside from lack of shut-eye, and actually have been walking more and more each day. Between my gluten allergy, and having to stay away from certain foods when breastfeeding…I am trying to be vigilant about what goes into my body. I feel as though I could eat all day long! This milk business is no joke.
Taylor is doing well. He is over his birth-weight, and hungry too! Today he looked at me, and for the first time I felt as though he actually saw me, his mommy, not just a shape, or contrast.
Just the other day, when Grace was sitting with him on her lap, he began to cry — She immediately said, "Okay, Okay mommy is here"– and proceeded to pull down her tank top as if she was going to feed him! If only I could get to the camera in time!!!
Grace has been wondering why Taylor’s belly button looks like it does since he came home. I told her that it was a belly button cord, and that soon it would fall off, then it would look just like hers. A couple of days ago, I caught her peeking through the snaps of his onsie. She looked up and said, "Mommy! It fell off!" I checked, and sure enough, it had. The only problem was that I could not find the little stump anywhere.
Later that night…after dinner- Grace yelled — "THERE IT IS!!" I had no idea what she was talking about until I looked over. Sure enough, right there on the floor — was the cord. Oddly, it was both cute and gross at the same time. I was caught somewhere between wanting to save it and wanting to vacuum it!
