Baby Boy on the Way for Today's Dylan Dreyer

The meteorologist announced the happy news on Friday

It’s raining babies on Today!

Days after Savannah Guthrieannounced she’s pregnant with her second child, Today meteorologist Dylan Dreyer spilled the news on Friday that she too is expecting. And it’s a boy!

It’ll be the first child for the 34-year-old and husband Brian Fichera — a cameraman for NBC Nightly News. The two met when working the morning shift at Boston’s WHDH and wed in October 2012.

Dreyer said she’s due in December — the same month Guthrie is due.

The big reveal happened during Today‘s Trending segment.

“We can’d do surprises in our family, so I found out what I was having right away,” Dreyer admitted. She revealed the sex to her husband by having him pop balloons to filled with blue confetti inside.

Dreyer reenacted the adorable act for her Today family. She was also showered with gifts from the Today staff, and surprised by a visit from Fichera during the show’s 9:00 hour.

“We weren’t in a rush to have kids and, to be honest, there was a time when we declared we never wanted kids!” she wrote in a blog post. “Then one day we both looked at each other and said ‘I want a baby!’ As usual, we were on the same page and it all just seemed right.”

“We didn’t plan the timing of a December baby to get out of winter storm coverage … I swear!” she joked.

The couple’s new addition joins brown miniature schnauzer Bosco.

“I just can’t believe I’m this lucky,” Dreyer said. “I am so grateful and thank God every night and pray for him to keep his angels around our little one so that he’s safe and protected.”

“I’ve asked people to try to explain to me why having a baby changes your life in a way you could never imagine. No one can put it into words, but when I saw this little guy and watched him dance around and touch his hand to his face, I fell in love instantly. A love I, too, can’t put into words,” she added.
