He Sings, Too! Listen to Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's Lullaby for His Daughters
"And considering the fact that we are here in Hawaii, it's very appropriate that I sing this version," Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson tells PEOPLE
Movie star? Check. Wrestling legend? Check. All-star dad? Check. Sexiest Man Alive? Check.
But wait: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson can sing, too.
“I do this thing where I sing to my daughter Jasmine and it’s a special lullaby,” he tells PEOPLE of his 11-month-old baby girl. “And considering the fact that we are here in Hawaii, it’s very appropriate that I sing this version.”
“When my daughter Simone, who is now 15 years old, was 8 [or] 9 months old too, I would sing it to her,” he adds. “She would laugh, she would smile, she would coo, she would cry.”

“So here we go,” Johnson says before beginning the beautiful Polynesian song for the camera, pausing a little ways in to point out the (impressive) high note he’s able to hit.
“And then the English is, [sings] ‘Twinkle twinkle, little star,’ ” he shares. “Right about now, [Jasmine] is smiling at me, she’s looking up. ‘How I wonder what you are.’ She’s cooing right now.”
He finishes, ” ‘Up above the world so high’ — this is where Simone used to cry — [sings] ‘Like a diamond in the sky.’ And that is my lullaby to my daughters.”

“Generally in Polynesian culture, we’re raised on singing and playing guitar or ukulele and dancing and singing,” he tells PEOPLE. “Some of the coolest things I think about Polynesian men is that they are so massive and so big but yet they have the most beautiful falsetto voices and it’s extremely off-putting when you see them at first. It’s not what you expect.”
And it’s whenever, wherever, for Johnson’s pipes — though he does have one place he admits he shines.
“I sing everything and anything that comes to mind [in the shower] — but to be clear, songs I know that I can kill,” he explains. “That’s what I sing. I don’t try material out in the shower. I’m like, Ah, Sam Cooke, got it, got it. ‘You-ooh-ooh-ooh send me.’ ”
“And when you hit that little bit of vibrato, in the shower, in the right shower? Oh. ‘Where’s D.J. at? He still in the shower?’ ‘Yeah, been about an hour and a half,’ ” Johnson jokes. ” ‘Wow, that’s a long shower.’ “
