Former Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas Stagliano is still getting accustomed to being a mom of two. And though she loves her new normal, she admits the journey hasn’t been easy since Austin Michael was born in March.
“Two kids is no joke. So anybody that has more than two, I really admire,” Pappas Stagliano, who also shares 2½-year-old daughter Addison Marie with husband Stephen Stagliano, admitted to PEOPLE Thursday in Los Angeles at the 4Moms launch of the world’s first self-installing car seat.
“I look at Austin and I am like, ‘You are so cute, suckle on my boob, let’s have five more,’ ” Pappas Stagliano, 34, jokes. “And then Stephen is like, ‘No, we’re done.’ “
“I’m like, ‘No, we’re done,’ ” Stagliano affirms.

But just because the couple has decided that their family of four is big enough for now doesn’t mean that decision came easy — or that hormones and other outside forces didn’t have a say.
“At month eight, she sat me down and, because there is that hormone that makes you forget,” Stagliano begins, “she said, ‘Listen, if I, after Austin is born … ‘ “
“That’s Jesus that makes you forget,” Pappas Stagliano interjects.
“So if Jesus is like, ‘Forget about the bad pregnancy … ‘ ” he continues. “And she said, ‘If that happens and I want to have another one, you can punch me in the face.’ Then two months after Austin was born … “
“I was sitting [in the rocker] and I was like, ‘Ooooooooh … ‘ “
” ‘Let’s have another one,’ ” Stagliano finishes for his wife, adding jokingly, “And I was like, ‘I’m going to give you one warning, and then I’m gonna cold pop you right in the throat.’ ”
All kidding about future familial additions aside, the fun-loving couple are actually an all-star team when it comes to parenting duties.
“The one thing that we do really well together that we don’t need counseling on is that we parent really well together,” Pappas Stagliano says. “We take turns at night, he gets up and pops in that pacifier.”
And luckily, Austin’s big sister is all about pitching in, too.
“She’s so great. She loves him — probably almost a little too much,” Pappas Stagliano jokes. “If his pacifier falls out, she wants to be the first person to put it back in his mouth. She wants to kiss him, she wants to love him, she wants to be on top of him, she wants to put lotion on him. She wants to rub his head.”
