Taylor Earnhardt Putnam is about to start really living life in the fast lane!
The professional rodeo competitor — and daughter of late seven-time NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Teresa Earnhardt — is expecting a baby girl, her rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.
Earnhardt Putnam and husband Brandon Putnam will welcome their first child this summer.
“Rodeo has prepared me for pregnancy more than I ever thought possible. My core strength, key to my balance and stability in the saddle has helped to make for a healthy pregnancy and hopefully an easier delivery,” Earnhardt Putnam, 27, tells PEOPLE.
“My husband, Brandon, hasn’t gained any sympathy weight, but my horses sure have! I am adjusting to the differences in the saddle as my belly grows, but otherwise feel great.”
The Putnams recently held a gender reveal party for their family and friends at the Earnhardts’ Mooresville, North Carolina, private estate — the same location where they tied the knot in 2012.
And horseback riding will continue to be a huge part of Earnhardt Putnam’s life, as well as her daughter’s world.
“While I can’t compete, riding continues to be a part of my everyday life,” adds Earnhardt Putnam, who was recently named Southern Rodeo Association’s 2015 All-Around Cowgirl.
“I listen to my body, my doctor and to my horses. I will continue riding and making safe choices until my body says something differently. Brandon is supportive of my decision to continue riding. I can’t wait to meet our little girl and show her pictures of her on horseback in the womb.”
