They Grow Up So Fast! Chrissy Teigen Shares Video of Daughter Luna Waving 'Hello' to Dad John Legend

It seems like only yesterday that John Legend and Chrissy Teigen welcomed their first child, daughter Luna Simone, into the world.

But in reality, that was in April — and the now-8-month-old is starting to really step up her communication game!

Case in point: “We miss you, papa!! Can’t wait for you to come home!” Teigen, 31, captioned a sweet Instagram clip of Legend’s mini me, outfitted in a long-sleeved pink Carter’s onesie and waving at the camera.

Teigen — who has previously experienced “mommy shaming” on social media — also took the opportunity to anticipate (and answer) a list of questions from commenters.

“Yes she has rosy eczema cheeks, yes we are taking care of it, no it’s not a gluten allergy, no it’s not our makeup, no it’s not from our perfume, yes she’s just a baby,” the model and cookbook author added to the video’s caption.

The couple’s daughter has been hitting milestones left and right lately. In October, Luna had her first savory bite — of green beans.

The following month, the little girl’s maternal grandmother Vilailuck cross-posted a photo of Luna and the family bulldog Puddy, captioning it, “Guess what? I got one tooth now.”

Luna’s flexibility in trying new things and developing her communication isn’t a shock, considering the emphasis her parents put on keeping her well-rounded already.

“[Luna] seems to be able to handle a lot of different environments because she’s traveled a lot with us already,” Legend told PEOPLE in August. “We’ve been to Italy, and to France and New York, and Mexico with her, and so she’s traveled quite a lot with us already. She’s been able to handle all that so hopefully we’re getting her prepared for the kind of life we live.”

Teigen and Legend — who recently starred together in the musician’s video for his new song “Love Me Now” — can currently be seen in Target’s The Toycracker. In the 8-minute musical, Legend features as The Nutcracker‘sRat King and Teigen the titular character.
