She’s best known as the teen queen of the 1980’s, starring in such movies as Pretty In Pink, Sixteen Candles, and the cult classic, The Breakfast Club, but today Molly Ringwald is a Broadway star and a full-time mom to her 3-year-old daughter Mathilda Ereni.

Molly is currently in Memphis performing the musical Sweet Charity at the legendary Orpheum Theater. While I did not have the pleasure of interviewing her myself, the local television station I work for interviewed the starlet, who could not stop talking about her precious daughter, who is on tour with her. Here’s what Molly had to say:

On what her daughter thinks she does for a living and being a performer in the spotlight: "She basically thinks that mommy sings and people clap and that basically the extent of what I do."

"She doesn’t have anything else top compare it to because I’m her only mommy, so for her it’s completely normal that she sees mommy on posters and that people want to talk to mommy."

Mathilda’s love of travel: "She loves hotels, she loves airplanes, so for her it’s a lot of fun, of course she doesn’t have to do any of the packing… so I think it’s a lot easier for her."

Molly vs. Mommy: "I tried to convince her the other day that my name was Molly and she says, ‘No it’s not, it’s mommy."

Mathilda’s father is Molly’s long-time boyfriend, book editor and writer Panio Gianopoulos.
