Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher are thrilled to welcome their second child, another boy, especially because the good news comes after a rocky few years for the couple.

The former pro hockey player, 38, referenced these hurdles — which include his wife’s terrifying fall and a series of miscarriages — in a sweet Instagram post on Wednesday following the Monday birth of baby Jacob Bryan.

The photo is a close-up of the newborn wrapped in his dad’s arms.

“Jacob Bryan Fisher! You are a gift from our Lord!” the father of two captioned the post. “The last few years has has had its challenges and it makes this moment even more sweet!”

“We didn’t know if Izzy would ever have another sibling but we learned through it all that God is in control and his timing is perfect!” Fisher added, referencing the couple’s older son Isaiah Michael, 3½. “He is good all the time even in the difficult times that are hard to understand.”

The 35-year-old country singer announced the arrival of their latest addition with an Instagram post on Wednesday.

“Jacob Bryan Fisher entered the world in the wee hours of the morning on Monday … his mom, dad and big brother couldn’t be happier for God to trust them with taking care of this little miracle!” Underwood wrote alongside a photo gallery of herself, Fisher and Isaiah with their newest family member.

“Our hearts are full, our eyes are tired and our lives are forever changed. Life is good … ” the Grammy winner added.

The happy news of her baby boy comes a little more than a year after Underwood fell on the steps of her Nashville home in November 2017. As a result, she received 40 to 50 stitches in her face and underwent surgery on her broken wrist.

In addition, this past September, she revealed she suffered three miscarriages from 2017 to 2018. During an emotional interview with CBS Sunday Morning, she opened up about her challenging fertility struggles.

Explaining her reaction to the heartbreak, the “blessed” star said, “My son, Isaiah, is the sweetest thing. And he’s the best thing in the world. And I’m like, ‘If we can never have any other kids, that’s okay, because he’s amazing.’ ”

“And I have this amazing life,” Underwood continued. “Like, really, what can I complain about? I can’t. I have an incredible husband, incredible friends, an incredible job, an incredible kid. Can I be mad? No.”

Speaking with Redbook in August about her emotional year, the American Idol champ reflected on her life-changing fall and the hurdles she overcame in the months that followed.

“It was … a very soul-searching year for me. There were some personal things that happened,” she said. “And I had the accident and all of that to get through … and just life. Life is full of ups and downs, and I might have had a few more downs than ups last year.”
