Update: We have learned that it is Carlos’ 16-month-old son, Carmani, who has received the bone marrow transplant. During the procedure, doctors used stem cells from the umbilical cord of one of Carmani’s youngest brothers.
Originally posted September 27: Utah Jazz player Carlos Boozer has been granted permission to miss the start of training camp next week to be with his family. Carlos’ son, who battles sickle cell anemia, is currently in the hospital where he received a bone marrow transplant. The 25-year-old father released the following statement.
Carlos and his wife, CeCe, have three sons — Carmani, and twins Cameron and Kayden, born over the summer.
