Dakota Meyer has stepped forward as the father to Palin's newborn
After months of silence on the subject from Bristol Palin, it may finally be clear who fathered her newborn daughter.
But Bristol’s mother Sarah Palin has hit back at Meyer in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying: “For many months we have been trying to reach out to Dakota Myers (sic) and he has wanted nothing to do with either Bristol’s pregnancy or the baby.”
She added: “Paramount to the entire Palin family is the health and welfare of Sailor Grace,” and claimed that Meyer is trying to “save face.”
In the documents, he reportedly claims to be the biological father and is also asking that Palin, 25, pay him child support.
Bristol announced her pregnancy one month after canceling her wedding to Meyer, but never publicly spoke about her child’s father.
Soon after her announcement, the former U.S. Marine took to Facebook to express his opinion on terrorist attacks, but never mentioned the possibility of becoming a father.
However, he did share a photo of Sailor Grace on Instagram shortly after the birth on Dec. 23. He captioned the photo: “Best Christmas present ever!! I couldn’t be more proud of this little blessing.”
Aside from his post, Meyer, 27, remained tight-lipped about the baby, while Palin has sharing plenty of pictures through social media.
The Alaska native has not yet commented on Meyer’s filings.
