Brian Tee Welcomes Daughter Madelyn Skyler

The Jurassic World actor and wife Mirelly Taylor welcomed daughter Madelyn Skylar on Monday, his rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively

Brian Tee is entering into a whole new world: Parenthood!

The Jurassic World actor and his wife, actress Mirelly Taylor, welcomed their first child at 11:58 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, in Los Angeles, his rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.

Daughter Madelyn Skyler Tee was born weighing 6 lbs., 8 oz., and measured 19 inches long.

And although the couple chose their baby girl’s first name after searching for a moniker meaning “elegance, grace, leadership, power, strength and beauty,” they will call her Brielly (pronounced Bri-lee).

“We were actually thinking of naming her Brielly from inception. We loved it! So typical coming from two actors,” the proud new parents tell PEOPLE.

“But we thought better, dreaming of the day when she’s 13 years old, coming at us with a, ‘Really guys? … Really?! You really hybrid-ed your names and named me Brielly?’ So Madelyn Skyler (MadSky) was born and is the magical miracle of our lives.”

But her nickname isn’t the only way Brielly is taking after her famous father. “First thing we noticed is Madelyn has Daddy’s eyebrows,” the couple share.

Tee, 38, can next be seen as a series regular on NBC’s Chicago Med, premiering in November, and as Shredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, in theaters summer 2016. He can be found on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Taylor recently wrapped three independent films.
