HAPPY FAMILY
When former 7th Heaven and The Secret Life of the American Teenager star Beverley Mitchell started searching for a theme for her 1-year-old daughter Kenzie's nursery, she had her husband Michael Cameron in mind when choosing the aqua decor. "I love that it is so tranquil and serene and I also wanted Michael to be comfortable in the room and not overwhelmed by pink," she tells PEOPLE. "I wanted something that was more neutral and calming."

BABY MOVES
"[Kenzie] loves to dance. So whenever you put music on she does this little booty shake and just gets so excited. It melts my heart every time," says Mitchell. That includes boogying in her Pottery Barn Kids crib, which is decked out with Carousel Designs' Taupe Suzani crib bedding. As for the Kenzie sign above the bed? Mitchell has Etsy to thank. "I can't get enough," she says of the site. "I love that it is simple and cute and is safe to hang over the crib!"

TEAM WORK
After falling in love with the bedding print, Mitchell says she instantly started designing the room with the help of designers Bill Horn and Scout Masterson. "I had no idea where to start and they totally came in and just took over and made sure we had everything we needed," Mitchell says. "They not only helped design the room, they also put the room together and handled the delivery of everything while I was at the hospital giving birth!"

PERFECT MATCH
Mitchell hung two needlepoint artworks in the nursery – one from her childhood and one from her husband's, which shockingly had the same characters. "They actually looked like a set," says Mitchell. "It truly was perfect so I took them in and got them framed and they are my favorite part of Kenzie's nursery. A little something special from Michael and I's childhood that we get to share with our precious little girl."

DELICATE DETAILS
It's all about the little things! Kenzie's nursery looks complete with her cozy 4moms MamaRoo baby seat, lamp, rug, side table and dresser from Pottery Barn Kids and a personalized pillow with the details of Kenzie's birth from Merle amp Velma. "[It's] just a fun way to remember the best day of our lives!" Mitchell says of the pillow.

CHILD'S PLAY
What's a nursery without toys? Kenzie's hand-painted toy box was a gift from friends, while Mitchell found the double cylinder ceiling light from Oilo. "I hunted Pinterest and came up with a theme from there," says Mitchell about brainstorming the overall decor.
