Australian Sophie Lee welcomes third child
Australian former actor, and now writer, Sophie Lee (Muriel’s Wedding, The Castle) and husband, Anthony Freedman recently welcomed their third child, and second son, Jack, earlier this year. Jack joins big sister, Edie, 4 and big brother, Tom, 20 months. Sophie opened up her home to The Australian Women’s Weekly and talked about motherhood and her new-found passion for her change in career path as a writer. She also posed for some cute photos with her kids!
Sophie says that motherhood has fulfilled her and that she is absolutely loving it, even though she says that motherhood is her hardest job.
I’ve always wanted three children. I guess I’ve got a lot happening. It was hard to find the time to fit it all in. I think motherhood is the hardest work that you can ever do. It’s easier to act or write a novel than raise children! But it’s so fulfilling, with special moments every day!
Since having children she says that she has refocused her energy and rethought her career path.
There’s something about having children that refocuses your energies and galvanizes you to go ahead in your life. I wasn’t unhappy, but I knew I wanted to write and, from that moment, I felt I had to do it.
Sophie’s first novel Alice in La La Land is released this month.
