The work-home division is a difficult conundrum for many new moms, but former Bachelorette Ashley Hebert Rosenbaum has found “the most perfect balance” between the two.

The new mom — who lives in Miami with husband J.P. Rosenbaum and their 9-month-old son Fordham Rhys  — spoke to PEOPLE while the couple celebrated their feature in Ocean Drive Magazine Tuesday night at The Shore Club Residences in South Beach.

Ashley, a pediatric dentist, was originally planning to set up her own practice once she was a mother, but soon after her baby boy was born, “I decided I wanted to spend more time with my son.”

Now the first-time mom works part-time and spends the rest of her days with her family. And between living in a new city, her job and her tight-knit trio, Ashley couldn’t be happier.

“In this moment in my life, I feel the most fulfilled and the happiest that I’ve ever felt,” she tells PEOPLE. “Career, family, where we are, just day to day, I feel very happy.”

While they continue to live their happily ever after, J.P. never expected to find his wife when he signed up for the show four years ago.

“I was going away for two weeks on a vacation, have a story to tell, and that was the end of it,” the construction manager says of his initial thoughts about his Bachelorette stint.

While Ashley took the process a bit more seriously — and did feel “pressure” during the filming — she also admits, “I never said I’m definitely going to get engaged, I’m definitely going to get married. It was more like, let’s see what tomorrow brings.”

The process clearly worked: Unlike currently torn Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe, Ashley’s heart was stolen from the start. “I knew it was going to be J.P from very, very early on,” she says.

Despite their successful marriage, the couple don’t have any secrets to making their love last.

“Ask anyone who is married: ‘Why did your husband work and not the guy before?’ ” Ashley says. “Is it timing? Is it the person? Is it a little of everything? I don’t know, it just worked out.”

The proud parents are hoping to multiply their love — sooner rather than later! — by adding another baby to the mix. But the first-time father jokes that there’s a catch to giving Fordham a sibling.

“We definitely want another one, but there’s no way the second one could be as good of a baby as Ford is … We are incredibly spoiled!” he says.

Although Ashley initially wanted “back-to-back” babies, the couple are open to following in J.P. and his brother’s footsteps — the two are 22 months apart and “best friends.”

“It’s not far off, so we’ll see,” she shares of a second pregnancy.

One thing is for sure: Should Ford ever decide to find love on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, his mom and dad give him full approval. “Of course he can [go on the show]!” says Ashley.
