April Hernandez-Castillo is a mom!

The actress, 32, and her husband, producer Jose Castillo, welcomed their first child, daughter Summer Rose Castillo, on Sept. 30, her rep tells PEOPLE.

Hernandez-Castillo was induced Friday evening, but delivered via cesarean on Sunday afternoon after a pre-eclampsia diagnosis.

Born at 1:15 p.m., the healthy baby girl weighed in at 7 lbs., 5 oz. and is 19 inches long. Mom is doing well, recovering from surgery and resting with her new daughter.

Hernandez-Castillo, who starred as Eva in Freedom Writers and played Officer Cira Manzon on Dexter, announced her pregnancy in April.

The following month, she told PEOPLE she was expecting a girl — and had her baby names chosen already.

“We actually had names picked out way before we even became pregnant,” she said at the time. “We are still deciding on a theme for the nursery, but I do know there will be lots of pink!”
