The actress, 38, will co-host the 40th Annual People’s Choice Awards with Mom costar Allison Janney, live from the Nokia Theatre in Hollywood Wednesday night at 9 p.m. on CBS.
“There’s gonna be fear behind these eyes on the day I’m up there on stage,” shares Faris. “I’m gonna try to hide it. There’s gonna be some fear!”
But, luckily, she can count on Janney, 55, to be by her side. “I don’t think I could do it with anybody else right now,” she explains.
Adds Janney, “She’s gonna be rippin’ the skin off my arms. I’m actually really glad that we’re doing it together because I don’t think I could do it alone. I feel very comfortable with her up there.”
As for Faris, she can bet her baby boy will be tuning in — although she can’t expect his perception to be on point 100 percent of the time. “[He] did call Amy Poehler ‘Mommy’ the other day,” Faris jokes.
Although Faris and her husband, Chris Pratt, are two of Hollywood’s favorites, she hopes that Jack will one day evolve into a little brainiac. “[I] want him to be an environmental scientist,” says Faris.
Unfortunately, the couple won’t be seen walking the red carpet together on Wednesday. Pratt will be watching his comedic wife host all the way from their couch.
“My son is having eye surgery the next morning, so we’ll see what happens — [Chris] may come, but he may not,” Faris tells ET Canada.
So who will be Faris’s date? None other than co-host, costar, and BFF, Janney.
“You may think that it’s a joke, but I truly do have an obsession with my costar,” Faris tells PEOPLE with a laugh. “I think we’re both feeling really lucky right about now that we get along so well and that we love each other.”
“Neither one of us is a diva,” explains Janney. “We both get it and we both appreciate our jobs and we love that we get to do what we do, and we enjoy being silly and funny and playing.”
Adds Faris of her big support system, “I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful child and a great job, an amazing costar.”
