Andy Cohen Claps Back at Critics After Dog Wacha Destroys Son's Toy: 'Stand Down'
“It’s not that deep," Andy Cohen explained, after his dog ripped up a toy belonging to the television host's 12-day-old son Benjamin Allen
Revealing his pooch’s antics in a series of Instagram Story videos on Friday, the Watch What Happens Live host, 50, questioned Wacha, who looked very tired and was resting amid a pile of plush stuffing from 12-day-old son Benjamin Allen’s toy.
“Did you just eat my son’s stuffed Torah that the Rabbi gave him Wacha? And now you’re exhausted?” Cohen playfully asked his pet. “That was my son’s Torah. Did you want to explain to my son what you did? And what do I tell the Rabbi? Wacha? Wacha!”
However, what began as just a cute series of videos turned into Cohen’s first real taste of dad-shaming.
Clapping back, Cohen recorded a separate series of Instagram Story videos where he explained that contrary to his critics’ beliefs, he didn’t have “a big problem” on his hands.
“Okay, flooded with DMs from people saying I’ve got a big problem on my hands,” he began, explaining that many believed his dog’s actions meant that “Wacha’s jealous of my son.”

“Wacha didn’t know that the Torah toy, we’re talking about a Torah toy, belonged to the baby. He just had his eye on a purple f— toy and he wanted to rip it apart,” Cohen continued. “It’s not that deep. Stand down. Everything’s fine in the West Village.”
Directly addressing his pooch in another video, Cohen added, “Hey, I’ve been a dad for 12 days, people are judgy as f—. We gotta be careful, okay. Sometimes a Torah toy is just a Torah toy everybody, right?”
One day before the toy mishap, Cohen celebrated his first Valentine’s Day as a father by paying tribute to the two big loves of his life.
In a heartstring-tugging snapshot, the television host beamed while snuggling up with his dog and his first child, who was born Feb. 4 via surrogate.
“TWO Valentines! Lucky me ♥️♥️♥️,” Cohen captioned the adorable image.

Earlier in the day, a cute picture posted on Wacha’s own Instagram account showed the pup peering between the bars of Benjamin’s crib at the newborn.
“Checking on my little brother! 🐾 ♥️ 🐾,” the caption read.

For this week’s issue of PEOPLE, Cohen and his cover costar Benjamin posed for an exclusive photo shoot, and the new dad sat down for an interview with PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly Editorial Director Jess Cagle about all things fatherhood — including his plans for introducing his son and canine.
“Wacha has not met Benjamin yet,” he explained to Cagle of his rescue dog and newborn baby boy. “I want to get Benjamin acclimated to the space and get us acclimated to everything.”
“And then that dog is going to bound in here in a few days. He’ll be back,” Cohen continued. “There’s gonna be a bris [a Jewish circumcision ceremony], and then the dog will appear.”
